SPEAKER INFORMATION + RESOURCES
I am very excited to collaborate with you to create a high-value, unique event for IB Psychology teachers.
The PsychWise Virtual IB Psychology Summit is a 3-day virtual event that will help teachers with ready-to-go strategies & resources from experienced educators, so they can effectively teach and assess the course components.
This year's theme is Clarity, Confidence & Connection: Teaching IB Psychology Stress-Free. On this page, you’ll find resources to make your life as a speaker easy and answer questions you may have. If you run into a question not answered here, reach out at [email protected].
We know that things like summits and bundles aren't always the most smooth or beneficial experiences, but your experience is our top priority here. We can't host this event without you and are dedicated to ensuring every one of you enjoys the process and benefits from participating.
⭐️ ⭐️ All speakers must check their presentations against the checklist before submission. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel. ⭐️ ⭐️
In addition to a smooth and organised experience, as a speaker you'll receive:
OPTIONAL* 30% on any Extended-Access Pass purchases made through your affiliate link if you submit your session on time.
OPTIONAL* 50% on any Extended-Access Pass purchases made through your affiliate link if you have contributed to the Extended Access Pass and submit your session on time.
Complimentary Extended-Access Pass to the PsychWise Virtual IB Psychology Summit
Gain email subscribers by providing a freebie through your presentation (optional)
*Why optional? Because some teachers have told us their schools forbid them from accepting payment for anything outside of their contract, and others want to donate their profits to help cover the costs of putting this event together. Whatever you decide, we are happy to collaborate with you.

Here's a video overview of the information found on this page. Note there is more information on the page than in the video - I am updating this page as your questions come in. Take particular note of the video recording tips below ↓↓↓
0. SUMMIT DETAILS
The event will run from Friday July 26 to Sunday 28th.
Presentations will be pre-recorded, 20-30 minutes in length, and can include promotion of your related freebie.
We know you're busy, so there won't be a scheduled live component for this event. Instead, we'll have a dedicated thread for each presentation in the attendee Facebook group. This is where they’ll go to ask questions and let you know how much they loved your talk! We do ask that you check in a time or two during the time period that your presentation is live if you're available. It’s a great chance to engage with the attendees, answer simple questions, and point them to additional resources you have.
Added to this, we hope to facilitate some live co-working sessions. These will create spaces for people to network and apply all the wonderful learning from the summit. If you're an experienced teacher and up for hosting one, let us know!
Leading up to the summit, we’ll have about 2 weeks of promotion. Each speaker is asked to promote at least once via email and once on social media to ensure everyone benefits, but anything above and beyond that is totally up to you, your goals with affiliate commissions, and how much you'd like to support the event.
During the promotion phase and as the summit is running, we’ll promote the Extended-Access Pass. This includes ongoing access for the replays (above the 48-hour access everyone gets for free), notes and action steps for each presentation (which our team will create), extra live sessions, and additional bonuses we’ll all throw in. This will provide immense value to our attendees, while making the work of promoting and creating a presentation worthwhile by allowing you to extend your reach and bring in affiliate commissions and additional email addresses. Whoop!
What I’ll Ask of You
This all sounds great, but what do we need from you? Let’s chat about it!
Our goal is to make everything easy so we can all enjoy the event while providing immense value and growing our portfolios.
⭐️ ⭐️ All speakers must check their presentations against the checklist before submission. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel. ⭐️ ⭐️
1. BASIC INFORMATION
First, we’ll gather some basic information from you so we can finalise the Registration page and show you off on our Speakers page. You may have already provided this when you entered the Call for Speakers form. If not, we will be in touch.
2. PRESENTATION
Next is your presentation! This is a ~30-minute pre-recorded presentation where attendees can learn something valuable, feel encouraged, and have fun in the process.
Please structure your content in a way that allows attendees to walk away having really learned something, rather than a webinar format where they feel like they're missing something important. Be efficient but don’t hold back! If your session has to be longer, we will discuss splitting it into 2 with you.
Consider ways to make it interactive. This includes responding to prompts that you post in our Facebook group. Access to the group will be to speakers given as soon as the platform is ready. You can schedule a post to publish at the time your talk is scheduled for.
You can record your presentation using any software that results in a high-quality video, such as PowerPoint, Zoom, or Loom. Some tips:
🎞️ Use a stable camera/laptop/tablet/phone rather than holding it in your hand
🎞️ Record in landscape, not portrait
🎞️ Check resolution settings and aim for High Definition (HD) or better
🎞️ Avoid reading from a script a-la-robot, but do have bullet points to guide you off screen; eliminate 'ums' and 'ahs' for a clear audience listening experience
🎞️ Ensure you have an intentional background whether it is a blank wall or a fake image - the background should complement, not distract from, what you have to share
🎞️ Do a test run for a few seconds to check lighting, sound, and video quality
🎞️ If you can position your camera a little higher than your eyes, it will look better than if you look down at the camera
ENSURE YOU REVIEW YOUR PRESENTATION USING THIS CHECKLIST
💡 Click here to access our resource folder 💡
You have your choice of the following presentation formats, based on what works best for you and your topic:
Slides - You talking to the camera
An interview (to be arranged with us)
A mixture of the two
We ask that you do not share your recorded presentation for 3 months after the summit ends, though you are free to present the content live if you wish.
⭐️ ⭐️ All speakers must check their presentations against the checklist before submission. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel. ⭐️ ⭐️
Your presentation should include great, actionable content. Here’s the suggested format:
🌟 A good hook to make attendees want to continue watching
🌟 A quick introduction to you
🌟 Teaching section
🌟 1-3 specific action steps attendees can take
🌟 Up to a 2-minute freebie pitch that attendee will receive alongside your session - you can send this to us or link to your own site
Required Elements - Presentation 101:
🌟 1-3 action steps that attendees should take to achieve the transformation they need around your topic
🌟 Avoid reading off slides or other text - bullet points & graphics are fine
🌟 We have optional slide deck templates which we refined with feedback from our initial speakers. Feel free to edit as you see fit.
Presentations are due by Monday 1st July, but we greatly appreciate submissions as soon as possible.
3. EXTENDED-ACCESS PASS CONTRIBUTION
The Extended-Access Pass will be a value-packed addition to the presentations. To make it even more valuable, we encourage you to provide a resource to add.
This includes things like:
👉🏾 Lesson plans (most popular with attendees)
👉🏾 Templates to guide students
👉🏾 Checklists
👉🏾 Slide decks to be used with students
👉🏾 Games & activities
👉🏾 Assessment tools such as tasks and rubrics
👉🏾 Sample responses for SAQs/ERQs
(Note that we cannot predict the number of attendees so we do not recommend one-to-one offerings - such as coaching or moderating - as high numbers may become unmanageable for you.)
While this isn’t required, it’s highly encouraged that you participate. It’s a great way to collect hundreds of additional email addresses (as attendees will provide their information to claim your bonus) and it makes it easier to promote since your audience will want what you’ve included. We'll also increase your affiliate commission to 50% as an extra thank you.
We’d love information about your bonus as soon as you’re able to provide it (if you haven’t already) - it is due June 15th.
4. PROMOTION
The power of a virtual summit comes from a group of collaborators coming together for a single cause. The joint promotion that happens because of that is a huge benefit to everyone involved. We can’t get any of our speakers results above what we'd do on our own if no one shares.
To ensure this event is beneficial to all, speakers are asked to send a minimum of one email about the event and post at least once on social media during the promotion period, starting on Friday July 12th.
You’ll want to share using your affiliate link so you can get commission that will come from any sale of the summit.
EXTENDED PASS UPGRADES
Do NOT edit the affiliate link we give you or update to the prettier version of the link you get by pasting it into your browser and hitting enter. Anything other than the link given will not track your referrals. You can create a pretty link that leads to the original link with something like the Pretty Links plugin or bit.ly.
I am also happy to collaborate to help you promote. For example, I can come on your podcast, write a guest newsletter, or do a ‘live’ in your Facebook group (all with your affiliate link) to help you get some extra conversions!
5. LOW-KEY PARTICIPATION
And last comes participation during the week of the event. Since we’ll already have done the work of creating the presentations and extra resources, we’ll be able to sit back and relax!
All we ask is that you pop in to check on the thread in the Facebook group related to your presentation during / close to the time that it’s live if you're available. Easy!
Affiliate Details
While summits are great for supporting our community - and that is unquestionably our priority - overall visibility, making new connections, and a little extra income never hurts either, right?
That’s exactly why we’ve set up an affiliate program where you’ll receive a commission from all sales you refer to the event.
The commission structure is as follows:
✔️ 30% for all speakers*
✔️ 50% for all speakers who include a premium bonus to the Extended-Access Pass*
*This assumes you meet the July 1st deadline with a session that doesn't require further editing. That's one of the reasons we encourage you to submit early!
The pricing structure for the Extended-Access Pass depends on how fast attendees act. Tiers:
⏱️ $29 for 20-minutes after initial opt-in
⏱️ $49 for early birds
⏱️ $69 during the summit
⏱️ $99 after the summit
You’re more than welcome to post on any social media channels, groups, send to your email list, and even run your own Facebook ads.
Just remember to use your affiliate link, which will be sent as soon as we set up the registration page.
Payouts for sales will be made in August. Please bear with us as this is the first time we've run such an event and have to trust the tech will work.
As with all affiliate promotions, be sure to disclose that you’re an affiliate when sharing with your audience.
